I went to the ER yesterday because of a severe toothache. It was the worst I have ever had! Tylenol and Ibuprofen couldn't do a thing for me. I knew it was infected, but I couldn't go to a dentist since I no longer have one and I don't have any money, either. I had a dentist, but he did such a crappy job with my braces (and now I will need them for a second time), so I don't want to go to him anymore. I've been having problems with one of my bottom molars on and off for several years, and when I told this dentist about it, he pretty much ignored it. He gave me antibiotics once, but that's it. Well, that same damn tooth got infected and now my bottom-left jaw is swollen. The hospital gave me a prescription for Vicodin and Penicillin, and told me to take a specific amount of Ibuprofen each day.
Yesterday was horrible for me. I went to the ER at 12:30am, and didn't get home until almost 5am. I was still in a lot of pain since the Vicodin they gave me didn't really kick in yet, but it made me feel really sleepy. I took the other meds and then went to sleep. I had to wake up a 10am so I could go to a job interview. Well, the side-effects from the meds and the pain from my tooth were kicking my ass, so I couldn't go. I called the place a few time to see if I could reschedule, but the line was busy. My mom was at work and she continued to call me to see if I went to the interview. I told her that I just couldn't go. I was feeling very weak and dizzy and I was shaking so terribly. My jaw became very swollen, and I couldn't speak very clearly. Also, I was crawling around on the floor instead of walking. I cried my eyes out, because I really, really, really wanted to go to the interview. My mom was telling me to go, even if I were to pass out, because this was my last chance to get this job, she claimed. That pissed me off, especially since I was trying to call the place all morning to reschedule. Anyway, someone finally picked up when I called again, and I rescheduled for today.
Today I felt wonderful, and went to the interview. My jaw was still noticeably swollen, but I didn't care. lol I got the job. Finally, right?! lol The fucked up thing, though, is that it's a position in a bakery at a Super Target... The last job I had, which I hated, was at a bakery at another Super Target. lol Hopefully this store is more organized and fun. I wanted a position in human resources, but they filled those positions already. I start in about five weeks, so yay! I took the drug test, and I'm happy to say that I know I will pass this time. lol!
Well, my tooth no longer hurts, but I have an abscess on my gum under my infected tooth and I have another one on my jawbone. I have a dentist in mind that I want to go to, but I have to see if they'll see me since I don't have any money right now. I hope they can, because I need them to drain these abscesses, re-do this failed root canal, and I will need braces again. I'll call them Monday.
